www.healthyhabitsupdate.com targets busy people who want to know what to tweak to be healthier, in better shape and with more energy, without obsessing over their health.

My greatest desire is to help you make the right choices for YOU so that you can feel and look better without sweating it.

I’m a great believer in the power of SMALL CHANGES that bring about BIG RESULTS.  I won’t be asking you to spend hours in a gym, or grow sprouts on your window sill, or give up all the foods you love… so if you’re a health fanatic, this website probably isn’t for you. I’m not a health fanatic myself. I love healthy living, but I’m all for taking the middle road if it can deliver great results for minimal effort.

And forget about ‘one solution fits all’. We each have needs specific to us personally. Once you know what your bad habits are doing to you and how easy it is to do better, you’ll have the knowledge, the confidence and the desire to figure out what’s right for YOU, given your goals, your circumstances, who you are and the specific needs of YOUR organism.

Very briefly, I’m a holistic health practitioner, life coach and author (you can find out more about me here). I don’t have all the answers, but I do look for them and I love sharing what I learn. I have good results with my clients and I want to reach a broader audience, hence this website.

Healthy living is mostly a question of choice - but it’s hard to make informed decisions when health advice propagated by the medical body, family lore, manufacturers or the Internet (government websites included) is often based on data that is BIASED, OUT OF DATE, INCORRECT, CONTRADICTORY, FALSIFIED or INCOMPLETE.

You can’t base good choices on poor or incorrect information.

Healthy living is also a matter of habit, and habits aren’t something you can fix in a jiffy. You need to give new habits time to settle and let them grow roots through daily practice - yet consumers are being bombarded with promises of immediate results with miracle products. Quick fixes are here today, gone tomorrow.

This website is organized around three poles of information relating to healthy living: nutrition, body tune-up and mind matters.

The Nutrition section tackles how things work at the plumbing level, i.e. the biological level. If you get how things work, it helps you understand why certain aspects of diet are so important. It also covers dietary choices and metabolism issues and I set the record straight on certain health topics. You definitely should update yourself regarding these topics, because you’ve been lied to, manipulated or led astray with respect to them, sometimes in good faith... mostly not. If you only have time to check out one other page on this website, this is it: Myths & Untruths.

The Body Tune-up section is in three parts: Back to Health, Exercise and Weightloss.

The Mind Matters section addresses emotional eating, the brain, sleep and stress.

In the Resources section, you’ll find books that relate to healthy living, tips and tools, useful links and free downloads.

Finally, my blog travels more freely the intricacies of healthy living habits.

Healthy living isn’t rocket science. You have to WANT to change… you have to have a clear picture of WHAT you need to change and WHY… and you have to ENABLE new habits that will improve your health, your energy level, your physical form and your mindset. Just as important: you need to apply the 80/20 rule. Focus on the few changes that will have the greatest impact for YOU. If you try to reform your habits on too broad a front, you'll fail.

I can help you to do just that.

At www.healthyhabitsupdate.com, you’ll find clear, jargon-free, up-to-date information and informed advice on the key things you need to know to be your health’s best friend.

If you need help deciding what steps to take, or if you need someone to hustle you and make you accountable, check out my coaching services. Frequently asked questions about coaching are answered here.

You may have questions or need support. I’ll be there for you, an email away. Just contact me.

Like most folk, I thrive on feedback. I’d love to know your reactions to what you read on my website, so feel free to comment either on my blog or via email.

If you have something interesting to contribute – an article or a review – please check out Shared Wisdom.

Together, let’s make a difference!

What clients have to say:

Dear Issia – I started my coaching with you with a view to gaining some distance from my illness. I never expected to invest myself in turning a hobby into a business! It has brought me such joy and motivation! I so appreciated your efforts in helping me find a business formula suited to my physical constraints and you taught me great tools to keep me positive and upbeat and in control of how I experience my illness. Thank you so much! (My husband also thanks you, he says the difference after my coaching is amazing.)
